Methodology

This workflow uses Synthesia's official video-creation and pricing pages checked on September 6, 2026. Available creation methods, exports, and limits can vary by account and plan.

Products Covered

1 Define one narrow video outcome

Use a short training or product-explanation scenario with four scenes and a target length of about one minute. Fix the script, target language, and required resolution before entering the editor so later comparisons use the same source material.

2 Choose a starting method the account permits

Synthesia documents prompt, template, script, file, PowerPoint, and blank-canvas starting points. The free plan does not expose every Assistant-driven option, so record which starting method is actually available instead of assuming all workflows are included.

3 Build consistent scenes

Use one speaker layout, one visual hierarchy, and limited on-screen text. Record avatar availability, voice choice, scene timing, pronunciation controls, and any feature that requires an upgrade.

4 Generate and inspect the result

Capture the generation time and review lip synchronization, pronunciation, pacing, subtitle timing, visual consistency, branding, and export access. Preserve original screenshots even when the output is disappointing.

5 Repeat only one changed variable

For a localization test, keep scenes and script meaning constant and change only the language. For a platform comparison, keep the script, scene count, target length, and export requirement constant across both products.
